— these whirring sounds

I had the worst luck ever when it came to Tegan and Sara, I had a ticket to see them 2 years ago, but unfortunately another artist moved up their show to the exact same date and I made my choice then.

But this year everything went smoothly, a friend from Germany even joined us so it was great!

They were supported by the band Waxahatchee, check her out!

Always a pleasure to see The Joy Formidable live, this was my second time seeing a show of theirs (and a week later, a third time supporting Bloc Party) and in such a nice venue it turned out to be an especially pleasant evening.

I remember buying the ticket on a whim cause they were half off, and although I only sometimes listen to Garbage, I knew I was in for a great show!

Plus, it was the eve of Candice‘s birthday and she got Shirley to dedicate her a song (view the video below!), so that was nice.

This was my second year at Comic Con Paris; which, few of you may know, is actually coupled up in the same place with the European Japan Expo, so you can guess how it easily gets crowded in there…

Comic Con Paris, Day 1

While last year, Doctor Who was the main guest, 2012 welcomed the One Tree Hill cast. Though, I’m not a fan so you won’t read anymore than this sentence about that, heh.

Spent the whole 4 days wandering around the entire thing (my feeeeeeeet, they huuuuurt), but the main attractions were obviously the different panels/screenings, which of them I attended:

  • Masterclass: Alexandre Astier (from Kaamelott); though, finding the gigantic stage was the most painful part
  • Masterclass: Bref; which was honestly heh, we left like 5 minutes in
  • Screening: Le Visiteur du Futur, Season 3 premiere with the cast
  • Screening+Panel: Labyrinth, with Katie McGrath, Emun Elliott, writer Kate Mosse and director Christopher Smith
  • Masterclass: Doctor Who Backstage, with Caroline Skinner, Chris Chibnall, Toby Haynes and Murray Gold

Always a pleasure to see Metric! And with Synthetica just out, I enjoyed the show even more. Emily was especially chatty and playful that night, I missed that atmosphere. They were supported by french band Concorde.

@Léa and I managed to secure a nice spot just in front of Josh, thus the nice shots and video below.
